
Finance Manager Job at School of St Jude in Tanzania
We are seeking applicants for the role of Finance Manager based in Arusha, Tanzania at The School of St Jude. The School of St Jude is a charity funded school that provides quality education to approximately 1,500 primary and secondary children from the poorest communities in Arusha. St Jude’s has experienced rapid growth and is currently strengthening its management structure.
The Finance Manager is responsible for managing and further developing the financial systems for our organisation and heads a team of five qualified personnel. This is a new and exciting role ideal for the more experienced accountant or qualified financial professional who is now able to take time out and manage a younger team.

Key Responsibilities:
· Planning, budgeting, management reporting, preparation of the annual financial accounts, forecasting and fixed asset management, with a ‘hands on’ approach;
· Improving our finance and support function policies, systems and procedures;
· Advise in regard to legal and statutory matters;
· Continue to develop the basic accounting and financial management skills of the local staff, building confidence and instilling a strong sense of direction among the team;
· Participate with other division managers in decision making processes affecting the functioning of the organisation.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
· A degree in Accounting or similar discipline;
· Relevant and demonstrable experience in a senior finance role;
· Proficiency in ‘Quick Books’ and other accounting software would be an advantage.
Skills:
· Possess patience, tolerance and practicality whilst being efficient;
· Strong inter-personal and communication skills;
· Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a challenging environment;
