Position Description:
Qualifications
• A PhD degree in a relevant field/discipline (such as economics, agricultural economics/agribusiness, development economics or equivalent) and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in agriculture and rural development
• Demonstrated analytical skills relating to the analysis and interpretation of agricultural survey data, secondary data and agricultural sector trends
• Demonstrated capacity to think strategically about the linkages between farm decision making and agricultural sector trends
• Basic understanding of agricultural supply chains and common marketing/agribusiness constraints
• Demonstrated capacity to work with multi-disciplinary teams and in a cross-cultural environment
• Proven ability to take initiative and work independently. Proven strong report writing and communication skills in English.
• Superior inter-personal skills
• Knowledge and understanding of World Bank’s policies and procedures is desirable.
