An exciting opportunity has arisen with one of our clients and one of Sub-Sahara Africa's biggest soft drink bottling operations. Currently employing over 5,000 staff and with over 16 manufacturing plants located in Nigeria, Tanzania and Ghana. The company have grown considerably over the years and intend to expand its bottling operations into other African countries. In Tanzania where they acquired a local business in 2005 the company have taken market leadership across major cities in the country including Dar es Salaam.
They currently have a requirement for a National Marketing Manager to be based in their Head Office in Da es Salaam, reporting to the Country CEO your main focus will be to develop a high quality and cost effective marketing strategy, in liasion with PBI and the agency, and execute the same through the available resources, within the specified budgets and timelinmes, with a view to attain the volume and market share objectives.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
MARKETING:
q Prepare the Annual Operating Plans for the Marketing Function and obtain the CEO'S approval.
q Provide periodic information to measure volume and share growth against the plan and pro-actively recommend revisions.
q Maintain market intelligence of competitor's activities, their dealer consumer and customer promotions, new launches and recommend line of action.
q Plan and control the Marketing Operations under strict Budgetary Controls.
q Drive innovation agenda based on changing consumer trends.
q Prepare Performance Appraisal reports for those first line personnel who report direct.
ADVERTISING & PROMOTIONS:
q Formulate for discussion with the General Managers/Regional Heads of Sales and consolidate after agreement a company Advertising and Promotion Policy for approval by the CEO
q After corporate approval, implement in the most effective and cost beneficial manner achieving the strategic objectives.
q Determine the need , objectives and actions for both consumer and customer (pull and push) promotions and develop programs to achieve the said specific goals.
q Develop standards to ensure effective and measurable in store execution Coolers, DPP's , In store signs, etc.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
First Degree in reputable University and excellent track record in high profile company in beverage industry, preferably Soft Drinks or any FMCG.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Twelve (12) years experience in Sales and Marketing, with latter years at executive level of management within multi-national or other major company of substantial size and turnover. Hands on experience in Operational Marketing will be a distinct advantage.
