Position Description:
Partners for Development, a US private voluntary organization (PVO), seek a Deputy Country Program Director to help lead and expand its innovative and dynamic Tanzania program operations.
In addition to Tanzania, PFD manages agriculture, health, and small enterprise development programs in Nigeria, Liberia, Benin, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Cambodia, employing participatory approaches to empower communities, often in underserved and remote areas.
The Deputy Country Program Director’s specific duties include:
• Helping oversee ongoing program activities
• Program development, new business prospecting
• Proposal preparation for Tanzania and other African countries
• Partner management
• Developing and strengthening management systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
• The successful candidate will have an MA or MS with an international development focus
• A minimum of five years of field management experience in Africa, preferably in agriculture or public health and local capacity-building
• Excellent writing and verbal skills, planning, financial management and budgeting proposal development
• Experience with USAID, USDA and other donors, and host governments
• Information technology aptitude and cultural sensitivity.
