Key areas of responsibilities:
1 MONITORING AND CONTROL
• Take an active part in the upcountry budget formulation process
• Assist management in budget monitoring and control. Monthly extract the upcountry budgets from SAP (by cost centres) and obtain reasonable explanations of variances between actual and planned data, from the budget holders and forward the same to the agronomy accountant.
• Monitors and ensures that all tasks itemized in the upcountry monthly closure checklist (as provided to ATTT by AOTT management) are completed timely and signed off.
• Assist with there follow up and resolution of all the all the queries from head office related to anomalies in IFAS or Upcountry cash book and other transactions
• Ensures variance reports on Inputs are received on monthly basis between IFAS and Physical and action is taken to resolve the difference
• Facilitate the communication of AOTT management concerns to ATTT management on routine issues as may be called upon.
2 IFAS ACCOUNTING
• Monitor the Import and Export of replications from IFAS on a daily basis and assists in resolving any issues related to that process.
• Ensure that all IFAS related issues reported by head office are followed up and resolved in
a timely manner by ATTT staff
• Verifies with ATTT on Kg’s of crop bought/sold against the invoice raised by the primary society before they are presented for approval to ATTT management for payment
• Periodically verify the state of inputs with the farmers to determine its value.
3 ACCOUNT RECORDS MAINTENANCE
• Checks and ensures that all inter company Debits Notes and Invoices are complete with the supporting documents and allocations (Completeness) before they are sent to head office
• Checks to ensure that all transportation invoices for Tobacco and inputs and any other invoices are completely and appropriately supported before they are presented for payment
• Ensure that all utilities bills and invoices are paid timely by ATTT
Skills and competencies:
• Advance Level in Secondary Education
• Degree in Accounting or equivalent NBAA qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years in accounting field
